New Consumer Standards
New Consumer Standards
One 1st April the new Standards of The Regulator of Social Housing came into force. This new approach has been designed to deliver a well governed social housing sector.
There are four new consumer standards to sit alongside the existing economic standards which include governance and viability, value for money making best use of resources and ensuring rents are set in accordance with government policy.
The new standards:
Safety and Quality Homes Standard
Transparency, Influence and Accountability Standard
Neighbourhood and Community Standard
Tenancy Standard
These additional Standards are a positive step forward for tenants of social housing in ensuring that they are treated fairly, have access to high quality accommodation and are safe within their homes and communities.
